Bio: I have been a teacher for 45 years. I teach all levels and all styles. I was also a public school music teacher for 40 years. I place an emphasis on theory. Jazz and Classical music is built on complex harmonic structures and progressions. I use Classical as well as Jazz based teaching style and include a heavy focus on music thoery concepts. Improvisation: Jazz music heavily emphasizes improvisation and my students improvise over chord progressions, helping them develop their own unique playing style. Repertoire: A Jazz/Classical blended teaching style will involve learning and practicing a variety of music. Students will be encouraged to learn the original piano solos contained - and to create their own.
